• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

US violent death reporting points to a majority of men preferring firearms, and a small plurality of women preferring some form of poisoning. This makes sense if you consider that women are 3x as likely to attempt despite men being 4x as likely to die. Though the women's plurality is more narrow than I suspected.

You need to submit a query through the CDC to get the NVDRS data, but there's a study on the data you can review for yourself titled "Three leading suicide methods in the United States, 2017–2019: Associations with decedents' demographic and clinical characteristics".

I know a study that explores this. "Gender differentiation in methods of suicide attempts" - National Library of Medicine

i remember this one trans girl failed to CTB and the caretaker immediately saw her as a girl because women are more likely to fail 😭 this is usually because they choose less brutal/violent and therefore lethal methods
i like the osaka pfp btw ^^
