• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

And being done with the world is the right answer? It's admittedly unlikely, but it would be a nice turn of events.

Holy shit, I was literally just saying this to a fellow sick friend of mine 30 minutes ago! I asked her, "What if the instant we die we find out we were simply contestants on some cosmic gameshow designed to see how much SHIT we can endure? And the instant we die we find out whether we won or not."

Your version is way more fun. :)

Plus if that's true, I'm screwed because in the scheme of things, I'm golden. A lot of what I have is moral objections and regret. And the ability to see that things aren't going well and the window may close.

That's a very good point! I was raised Catholic so these things don't occur to me naturally.

I don't believe it's a test or anything meaningful. I believe life is so rare in the universe cuz there is no sense to it. Like a rare side effect to a drug. No sense or meaning just a rare accident.

It looks like universe has completely no point other than to exist, but the fact that we are conscious makes thing weird... I mean there is no point for consciousness in mechanical world, so maybe we are just here to experience this universe. But again this is pretty shitty experience, I mean there is suffering and pleasure which are like built in to the experience and have meaning on their own, also thing is too real for it to be like a simulation and there is no way to escape It other than to ctb, which is sad.
Also the lack of point in this whole thing is annoying, there is no ultimate goal, god or achievement that would say: "You won, You are free now, you may rest from uncertainty and fear". For majority of people biggest goal seam like some weird mixture of sex and gathering resources and social status. Which are games made by life and hardwired in our brains, and when we don't or cannot do them we are getting depressed. There are other things that make you happy or maybe content, like beauty, but If by beauty we think of paintings of naked woman (or man) we are back to square one, with that in mind one could think that interesting point of life would be to try find real meaning of life, that is not conditioned by sex, social status, wealth or entire procreation-evolution-society game.
Having that kind of world view is hard as society judges it as something unhealthy as It is not supportive of the way things are done. "you think too much". That is why high IQ is a risk factor in suicide.

"There is but one truly serious philosophical problem and that is suicide. Judging whether life is or is not worth living amounts to answering the fundamental question of philosophy. All the rest — whether or not the world has three dimensions, whether the mind has nine or twelve categories — comes afterwards. These are games; one must first answer." - Albert Camus

have a good day everybody

I don't know really, I think there is no deeper meaning behind this all. It is an interesting thought, that this is some sort of test. I think we are only here because of evolution, we have no purpose apart from a biological one, to procreate and keep the species running. Our lives are essentially meaningless apart from this, we are just waiting around to die. We suffer for the sake of it literally and I think once we die we return to the same nothingness that we were at before we were born.
