Help Verify that B&M comes in discreet packaging

Think I may have finally tracked down B&M after a straight six hours of scrolling the forum. So relieved I could cry. Hoping other people could help me with the following questions.

1) Do B&M products from Amazon definitely come in non-hazardous packaging, specifically BW? I checked out another thread or two on that and people at the time said the packaging was totally normal, but I am a bit worried and just want to double check as the threads were from July. Both my private mailbox and my college mailroom reject hazardous/dangerous materials (and would cause them to ask me questions especially as my school is aware of my mental health struggles).

2) I want to make sure I'm looking at the right product the two brands I see on Amazon are BW (black packaging; >98% SN) and DF( blue packaging, >75% SN). I think I have also found WS (white packaging, can't find SDS), which seems to be the other major brand besides BW from other threads I've seen. Is this description correct?

3) I live in a state with a ban on products with >10% SN. Will I still be able to obtain B&M through Amazon?

4) Once I open the SN to aquarium kit test it, if I put the lid back on and keep it in a dark, cool place, will it last for an extended period of time? I am honestly still hoping that something will happen to change my mind and make me not CTB. I read the pinned thread about SN stability, but some people in the thread were saying that the SN does degrade over time. Debating the merits of just buying two BWs.

I am quite anxious about B&M being discovered and delisted and will order BW ASAP if it is the correct product.

Hi, in response to question one, mine is still in the package so it blends in better. There's absolutely no hazardous material label or anything like that on it.

As for question two, that all sounds correct. For question three, one way to find out lol. But, it's not labeled as SN so it seems like a working loophole at the moment. I haven't heard of any state that has banned SN…. I mean there's a federal ban, so I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about.

Four, SN should be stable for a while. I definitely feel you on SN not being available to buy so easily forever and wanting to get some ASAP.

I wouldn't worry about the locker and all of that but I guess it doesn't hurt. Might want to double check because some materials CANNOT be delivered to a locker. Normal mail might be best.

The one I ordered from there had no labels indicating what anything inside was, just tape with the sellers name/logo, (not the products logo.) wasn't suspicious but maybe some people would also want to avoid that.

There are four states with enacted bans on selling products containing over 10% sodium nitrite to consumers. TBH the bans are unlikely to affect most people because there are almost no US sellers who have high purity sodium nitrite available for consumer sale regardless of state anyway, and MiC will mislabel. There is also the Youth Poisoning Protection Act, which is a proposed federal bill that would do the same thing for the whole country. It passed the House but hasn't passed the Senate.

I'm kinda shocked at how easy it is to acquire... I spent so long looking for all these dubious sources and them it's just right there.

Thank you! IMO the brand name might make someone at the mailroom wonder what a college student is doing with it, lol, but definitely not assume it's poison.

@lampshade321 ah, I didn't know that that bill hadn't passed yet.

A quick google search told me of one US state where SN is supposedly banned or wherever, but not sure how to find the four you're referring to. If it makes you feel better, I've never heard of anyone on this website worrying about legality of possessing SN, specifically in America. I know the UK has customs/welfare checks and whatnot especially for DSL, but I haven't heard of any American users having problems like that.

I ordered my SN from a retail store and had it shipped to my house, I will not disclose exactly which one it was but it's primary colors are Red, Blue, and White~ ^^ I was originally going to order mine off of amazon but the SDS for the ones on Amazon didn't guarantee >95% pure SN so I decided to poke around and order from a local store~ > < my box contained 200g of SN in two 100g containers but unfortunately it does have a big red label on the front and even a label that says "contains sodium nitrite"~ >~<

thankfully no one really cared and I was able to lie and say it was a gift for a friend that partakes in the hobby this item is originally used for so everything ended up okay~ but just a warning for those who happen to order the same kind that I did~
