I can't get sodium nitrite, but i already have nitrate, i heated it and put hot charchoal, but it came out in grey collor. Is it good enough? Cause it's the only convertion method i know and have recourses to do. And what precentage do i have of surviving if i drink sodium nitrate?
The purity of Sodium Nitrite cannot be ascertained at home especially when it is synthesized in an uncontrolled environment such as yours. It is impossible to know how much of Sodium Nitrate (NaNO3) reduced to Sodium Nitrite (NaNO2). What you tried to do is something that is done sometimes in pyrotechnics/fireworks. It is not a proper way to produce Sodium Nitrite. You could have accidentally burned yourself or caused an explosion/fire at home because NaNO3 is a strong oxidizer.
Sodium Nitrite is definitely not grey in color. Consuming unknown substances can make you very sick with no guarantees of death. Do not risk it. Do not act in desperation, a failed attempt often leaves the person in worse state.
