Trains?

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but how likely are passenger trains to work, I don't have a ton of options that seem like they would be painless, and a train seems the best. ((Lying down on the tracks with ones neck on the edge))
(Don't plan to do anything, but if I ever decide I want to in the future, I wanna have a plan, don't worry about me y'all)

not very well, there's a 10-20% survival rate and out of those 10-20% many are left severely maimed. Not sure how many of them put their neck on the edge. I survived a train attempt but I didn't put my neck on the edge nor did I find the fastest train.

Where do you have that statistic from? I am just curious.

This study claims a 10% non-fatality rate.
The 20% I pulled out of my ass. I remember that number when googling it after surviving my attempt but I can't find a study with that number now.

The study doesn't go in to great specifics but does indicate the 10% are closer to self harm attempts rather than actual suicide attempts.
I think it you're fully on track and train moving at speed it's 100%. I can't see how a person survives.

Im in new Zealand, and there isn't really any supply of anything that could be used, not that I have the money for that or guns anyway, and I don't really wanna suffer any pain if I ever decide I wanna do anything

Train is not a great method. Aside from the possibility of surviving and being completely mangled, you will likely traumatize the driver of the train, who will be ultimately the cause of your death (not legally, but it will still affect them for the rest of their life). Not to mention the passengers on board, and all the people who will have to clean your butchered body off of the tracks.

Idk exactly, but doing some quick math of its time between destinations, somewhere between 70 and 95.3 Kmh I think

I think that should be lethal, as long as the body is fully hit or the head is fully hit

I also live close to train lines, in the countryside where they're less likely to go slow since there's not much public disturbance, transiting ones pass at around 120kmph

If I get too desperate, trains will be the way to go.. Though one would have to time it well and follow timetables and such, and find a good spot between stations, or hope for a transiting non stopping train to pass your stop
I also don't recommend freight trains as the vibrations are extreme and you can hear them for up to five minutes before they pass.. Scary as hell..
