Whenever I discover a thread that has no replies, regardless of how old or recent it may be, and I see all the other threads above it and below it with tons of replies, it makes me feel sad. Whenever I come across threads like this, I try to reply if I can think of something to say, but sometimes it's difficult to find the words, especially when the person who posted the thread is going through some horrible shit and I know that nothing I say can make it better.

It doesn't matter where the thread is either, whether it be in Suicide Discussion, Recovery, or Off Topic. At the very least, I know that even if I do leave a reply that isn't very helpful, it at least bumps the thread so more people notice it and it gets a second chance. I myself have made threads in the past that fell into this category, but I don't feel upset about it or anything. I just feel worse for others who experience this, especially if they are new members because I don't want them to feel left out you know?

I know the feeling. It's the same for me. I wish i could say something more insightful, but maybe a comment helps someone else say something.

I've noticed that too. Sometimes even a short reply can really bring a thread back to life. I think some people might feel anxious or find it difficult to be the first person to respond to a heavy post

I was gonna suggest feature for finding unanswered threads. In search I see option for minumum number of replies, not maximum.
But I guess nobody gives a fuk about suggestions.

Sometimes I forget Forum suggestions is even a thing to be honest. But if you do want to make a suggestion like this, I can at least upvote the thread if you think it will help.

I like to think I do an okay job at leaving decently helpful replies to unreplied posts. I hope I manage to make people feel cared for, at the very least.

I think you're doing well. It's your best anyway, so you can feel good at least about that.

Eh, it depends on the thread. If it is the 10th "can I OD on this?" thread that week, I do not feel bad. If it is someone pouring their heart out, I do wish I could give them some comfort. Sometimes people are not looking for a reply though, they just want to get their feelings written down. I try to at least leave an emoji so they know someone saw it.

I do have to say though, I can not make it through some of the posts that are a solid wall of text with like, two periods and no paragraph breaks. My attention span is like "NOPE!" 😅

I completely agree with you, it really depends on the thread. A lot of the ones I find are people pouring their heart out and those are the ones that make me feel bad. It's hard to know sometimes if people want a reply or not, but I have encountered people on here who were looking for a reply that got upset about it later on, so that is why I take my time to post in threads that I think could use it.

I also get what you mean about the solid walls of texts. Sometimes I try to read them, but it can be very challenging.

Sometimes I respond to those posts. Other times I just don't have anything to add so I just drop a reaction. I try to make everyone feel included :)

It hurts that I cant respond to everyone, I know what its like to be alone and I hate that other people feel that pain
