Thinking of CTB in a european country

if i was to ctb in europe and was from the uk and had no identification on me would i be identified by any way

It would surprise me if they wouldn't. Only thing you could do is do it in a very remote location. What about the highlands in Scotland or in Norway?

I.e. go on a hiking trip and then ctb in a tent somewhere very off the grid.

You want them to be worried about you 24/7 instead? Eventaully a missing person report will be filled, atleast let the ones closest to you know what happend.
