So wow I just realized that a 48 hour regimen is actually not apart of the PPEH. Will you be following Stan's guide or the PPEH? I believe the 48 hour regimen is more for people who have nausea tendencies that feel they most likely will vomit.

A couple of hours is enough. There have been people intentionally poisoned by others and died in similar time. You just have to have a stomach that's pretty close to empty

When you say "a couple of hours is enough" are you referring to just the 1 day stat regimen?

I mean like 6-8 hours of fasting time. PPH gives similar wording for it. idk why the 2 day method came to be here, it's not mentioned in that book like that

The 48 hour regimen is mentioned in the 2022 complete edition I have downloaded, but is not mentioned in the 2025 Essentials version.

Either it's excluded for brevity or they've determined it ineffective.

Oh is it really? I've been a member here for a while so I may have seen it and forgotten about it since I stepped away from this community for a long while. I'll check it out.

I wonder why they excluded it in the further updates

To restate it's the full version I got off a piracy site. The versions publicly available on this site are the essentials versions, which are stripped down.

In the complete version 2022, it's mentioned in passing without too much detail.

I'm looking at the full versions from 2019-2022 and not seeing anything about fasting more than "several hours" in any of them...where in the book is this?

Not necessarily fasting, but the 48 hr meto regimen.

Drugs and Vomiting Section, mentioned twice, here's one from the Meto section:

It's just a shame that the PPEH never discloses the reason for changes.

I guess sometimes they don't really know exactly what the best approach is, and they don't want to make fools of themselves if they suddenly have to withdraw a recommendation and make a 180-degree turn.

Or rather, while they do withdraw recommendations from time to time, they keep the reasoning relatively vague, so it's hard to prove they made a mistake.

I'm going to follow the 40-minute regimen (the current version of the PPEH) for anti-nausea medication.

Reasons:

1. According to my research, this regimen results in higher levels of the active ingredient in the blood than the two-day regimen.

2. Relatively high doses over several days increase the risk of EPS more than a single high dose.

What is "EPS"?
