Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

It's been over an hour and I'm still waiting to connect with someone. Thankfully I'm in a somewhat good mood and was mostly just curious about the process, and what sort of advice they'd give, but I feel really bad for those actually struggling and who really want the help.

If I was actively suicidal , and waiting that long for assistance, I think I'd just go.

(To clarify, this isn't particularly a jab at help lines, moreso frustrated with how badly access to quality mental health care as a whole needs to be improved.)

The process usually takes longer during the nights and Mondays. But it's really normal to have to wait for a long time, usually it's at least a hour for me. I also feel ban for the people that want help and are stuck listing to elevator music, wondering if anyone will pick up.

Well, 20 minutes later and I finally connected. Just waiting for them to reply.

To me, a crisis line would be extremely pointless. Words from a stranger would not fix any problems or would make me suffer less. That really is such a long wait though, it must be frustrating having to wait that long. I wish you the best.

I personally enjoy call my local crisis hotline on occasion. Mainly because its an anonymous way for me to let it all out without running risk of getting put into another institution. But also because my close friends and family never really manage to say anything that is any more helpful to me than what the people on the hotline can tell me.
I can still sympathize with Tomatoandcheese though. I've lost count of how many times i was met with the voice mail telling me that everyone there is already occupied.
