• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

So many times I've heard people say that people who commit suicide are cowards... How? They are the bravest people I know.

People say that they are leaving people behind them in pain. Oh yeah? So how come when people die of Cancer people always say 'at least their at peace now and no longer in pain' - why don't they say the same thing about ppl living with mental health?

I wish I had the courage to overcome by survival instinct and have a successful attempt at crossing the bridge ... Hopefully next time it goes to plan

It's not just people living with mental health issues that do it. Financial/poverty is a big one. And physical. I hate that society considers anyone suicidal mental. It's just not so.

People who haven't been suicidal themselves will not be able to comprehend what it is like. Suicide is in no way cowardly as we have to overcome our SI, us humans are programmed to survive. Other people who are left behind are likely to be sad, but we did not ask to exist so it isn't like we have an obligation to stay alive.

It is cruel how society expects people to suffer for decades against their wishes, the human life expectancy is far too long. We deserve a right to die and society needs to be pro choice, in the end only we are going through what we are experiencing so we should be the ones who decide when enough is enough.

In the eye of society it is cowardice. In the halls of the church it is condemned. In the medical field it is understood but not encouraged. The reasons behind thinking it is cowardice: "instead of continuing on like everyone else, you seem to want to throw in the towel. Well, that's not fair to me, and since suicidal ideation doesn't even cross my mind I couldn't even comprehend such an act". A bit of toxic patriarchal masculinity coming from the high hills and never from the low valleys. If you even think of self-destruction that is permanent it is a statement that you're weak and can't handle the crushing weight of life on your puny shoulders.
Why not give up?
