SN restrictions

I bought my SN from the auction site (UK) about a month ago. There were a number of sellers listed. Now when I search for it nothing comes up, the one I bought from is not listed. Is SN sales being restricted now in the UK at least?

i was looking them up just out of curiosity, and it seems to me that many of them are no longer listed. however, when i looked up the vendor i bought mine from, he did still have his page up and was stocked up. so perhaps they're just censoring them...

i did notice that one of the suggested products when searching for SN was meto... that is a bit of a concern.

It seems the restrictions are by stealth then. Word must be out about it and it's been removed from the listing. I logged in and found the seller by clicking "buy again" but it wasn't listed in the search. Seems they are making it more difficult to buy but cannot ban it because it is not illegal.

Pretty sure I've got the same one. Have you tried blood testing it? After seeing your post I gave it a go and it seems to be ok.

I have given replies to this question on several occasions, but I suppose it bears repetition as there is so much to plough through on the forum, and there is an ever flowing stream of new members.

My points refer to the situation in UK.

UK legislation places poisons into two classes, viz. Regulated and Reportable.

Regulated means that possession, acquisition and supply requires a Home Office licence.

Reportable substances do not require a licence, but responsibility is placed upon suppliers to report any suspicious transactions or attempted transactions to police. Some guidance is given on what "suspicious" means, and inevitably many legitimate suppliers err on the side of caution.

Sodium Nitrite is currently placed in the Reportable category.

A little over a year ago the UK Government appointed a new Junior Minister in the Department of Health, with special responsibility to prevent suicide. There have already been two incumbents in this post (last time I looked). It seems pretty obvious to me that the increase in interest in the suicidal properties of SN will have attracted the attention of this department, and the attention of legit SN suppliers will have been drawn to their reporting responsibilities.

I wouldn't worry too much. That test kit doesn't fill me with much confidence. For a mere ten bucks it is supposed to identify six substances and three conditions, not merely simple presence, but also degrees of concentration.

How you are supposed to differentiate between the different substances which (according to the instructions) return almost identical test strip colours for different substances ?

I wouldn't worry too much. That test kit doesn't fill me with much confidence. For a mere ten bucks it is supposed to identify six substances and three conditions, not merely simple presence, but also degrees of concentration.

That's what chemistry is about. I hope you don't have a disease that must be monitored through daily testing blood/urine with test strips. I hope too many fish won't die in the aquarium because their owners don't trust the strips with which they are measuring the quality of the water.
I just wanted to share my experience. Take it or leave it. Either trust the seller of a product, or the testing device. Do your own research and in the end: only trust yourself.
