I know I did a stupid thing, I've just been really anxious in making sure that it was nitrite in the first place. I made sure it was, but now I'm anxious about it having lost purity and might've even started turning into Sodium Nitrate :') I opened it twice to test it with blood twice, each time it was opened for less than 30 seconds.

I'm not sure I can get another, but I get my aquarium testing kit soon too. I think i'd still feel anxious about using it because I did some research and different sources say it's air-sensitive, that it starts oxidizing into nitrate when exposed to air. Other sources say it should be fine even if exposed to air.

I really can't risk failing this attempt. I need to go, I have to. What do I do? Any opinions?

So I tested my SN twice (1 month apart) via a blood test, and the result was brown/ identical the 2nd time around as well. When I opened the SN the first time around, I closed the lid and wrapped clear tape around the cap. So if it helps, as long as it's sealed properly. 1 month seems to make no difference in the purity (going by a simple blood test).

That's really interesting! Thank you for sharing :) I'll make sure to test mine with an aquarium kit again, even if I get a new bottle of SN, for your guys' sake!

The guide says as long as it's 95% purity it should be good. Fingers crossed.
