Question: exit bag inert gas

Based on my research, it seems like the only purpose of the inert gas with an exit bag is to stop the si experienced from carbon dioxide buildup, which leads me to believe the true cause of death is suffocation. Am I correct? If so, this means I can ctb minus the gas, right? Yes, I know it will be painful, blah blah blah, but I need to know that I'll still die. Please let me know ( I plan to cuff my hands behind my back with the cuffs going through my pants loop in the back). Thanks

The purpose of the inert gas at the optimal flow is to create a 0% O₂ environment with no CO₂, which will cause a very fast death by hypoxia (which is totally peaceful and pain-free).

You can't, once the CO₂ builds up you will try to free yourself by any means necessary (you think you won't but you will , it's an involuntary reaction basically).
