Question about SH and suicide attempt

So i have been thinking of cutting myself before hanging. is that a good idea? i don't intend to make the cut fatal at all, i just want to use it as a coping mechanism (i have been self harming for years) before i proceed with the final step. what do you think?

What are your reasons against it? You've mentioned the reasons you *want* to do it but not the reasons for why you are doubting doing it in the first place.

i dont really have a clear reason against it. i have been thinking about it for a while. i just need some final push so i wont back out last minute. also, cutting helps me calm down in some way.

I get it. You probably feel bad about doing bc SH is universally seen as "bad" by society; people don't understand it. Maybe you feel ashamed. I'd say if you're certain you want to ctb then you should do whatever will give yourself the most comfort.
