Q: Whether or not to have I.D.

Here's another question: Who has thought about carrying out self deliverance anonymously? i.e.: die without any I.D. - a John Doe?

The main motivating factor for me to consider this is that I would not want my name in the local media.

Names of those taking their lives get published all the time, though I suspect that the method of suicide may be a factor. If one dies via at home, such the helium bag method at home it most likely will not make the local news.

I'm leaning towards self deliverance via high speed train, and I have noticed that in many train suicides, the deceased has their name published.

Dying without ID of course complicates things with people who know you not having any knowledge of your whereabouts or status since one will end up as missing at some point.

A lot of media actually censors it to discourage other people from doing something similar.
Sometimes really prominent people will be noted because of their status or unique circumstances surrounding the incident, but regular everyday folks generally are not.

Many have insisted that jumping in front of a train puts a lot of stress and trauma on the train conductor, but I have my doubts. I would wager that all conductors training includes teaching them that suicide jumpers are simply part and parcel of the job.

The real tragedy is the annoyance the passengers and crew have to contend with in the train getting delayed, etc.

To discourage this in Japan, the government allows the train company to seek monetary damages from the family of the deceased.

I'm not certain how the rail companies handle it in Europe.

My apologies in advance if I've set off a land mine. My decision to do the train in europe is based on : lack of access to firearms, likewise for chemicals to carry out self deliverance.
