As someone with Psoriasis for years since I was 13, I feel it has carry a deep responsibility into my thoughts of harm, CTB, socialising, health and others.
In this thread I'd like to hear your thoughts, if any members have the disease or experienced it and possible questions I can answer.
What is Psoriasis? Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the skin, characterised by reddish, desquamy, itchy or painful plaques.
Its cause Involves the immune system and genetic predisposition, It has MANY side effects, most commonly joint pain. There is no cure, but it "can be controlled".
Cases can be divided by 3 severity categories: Mild <3% of the body; Moderate3-10% of the body; Severe>10% of the body;
Around ~2-3 percent of the population has it, ~7.5 million Americans.
Although suicidal thoughts could arrive to anyone, as even me without my condition,I think a third of my physical and mental issues came by psoriasis.
Here some examples that I experienced and multiple cases have shown connection to the chronic disease. : Joint and tendons pain or stiffness; Eye Inflammation; Psychiatric comorbity; Intimacy issues; Back pain; Reactive depression; Suicidal Ideation; Sleep disturbance; Ectopic heart beat; Muscle weakness.
There is also lots of side effects that create multiple diseases, commonly, obesity.
Psoriasis, just like a much more serious disease like Cancer, has to be found it's own treatment by each personal case, and there exists multiple types of Psoriasis.
There is definitely more I could talk about, and also the positive common treatments like sunbathing, vitamin, diet, exercise.
But I wish to merely, open the discussion and see if I bring people's thoughts on the disease if they have not be known about, or find other people that wish to talk about it.
Thank you for your attention.
