I've only been on here for a short time so I'm not saying to listen to me, this is just my opinion. Only use this website to learn and plan how to commit suicide. Do not use it to make friends. Most of those friends will pass away in time, usually when you least expect it. We're all damaged goods here, no one you meet is going to last forever. It's just the nature of how this community works. I'd advise you to not bother posting your story or why you why to kill yourself. No one cares. I'm not saying this to be mean or belittle people's struggles. When I posted my own story, no one cared. There were no comments, no reactions. Isn't that kind of sad? Out of all the places where you can expect to be heard, you'd think it would be a forum like this. But, like most times, people only care about themselves. I'm no different myself. It is just how humans work. It solidified why I will commit suicide when the time is right. I just don't stand out as a person or a friend, not to a sufficient degree, enough to where people would actually care about me in a genuine way. I'm boring. Which is why I suspect I don't get that much, or any, attention. This brings me to my last point. Do not use this website as a sustitute for social interaction. The reacts, the comments of pity, they get to your head. For those who are suicidal, this is the worst place to be because you are basically competing for attention based on who has the most tramuatic or 'interesting' story. No one cares about individual struggles, their story big or small. It's a popularity contest where the most 'broken' person gets hugs and handshakes, while someone like me is just left in the wind. Do not use Sancantioned Suicide outside of informational purposes on how to kill yourself. Do not use it to try to recover your life (what a joke, a suicide fourm for recovery). Both routes will only lead to disappoint.

Why are you telling people how to and not to use this site? You learned that much about this site in less than 3 weeks? :pfff: You simply have not used it enough to form a bold opinion either way. If you did, you would have seen that people can and do recover.

I haven't used this site to make friends, but I have found community here.

In my experience people do care here and are sincere in a way other online communities can't be or won't be. But simultaneously everyone here has their plates full and are exhausted, so not every post gets engaged. It's certainly not personal, those posts still have a safe place to be sent into this forumn which is more than can be said for most other places.

Some people do find the site better used for information, and yeah probably a lot of connections made here with others won't last for one reason or another, that's totally fair. I don't think it's fair to assert that everyone here is wholly selfish and uncaring.

I second this, but I get you, OP. I often catch myself thinking "Nobody cares, I got no views, I got no reactions, something must be wrong with me". But I also learned that's just my trauma speaking. As Lamentice said, we all have our plates full and some posts will unfortunately remain ignored. That's never your or anyone else's fault. When I first came here, I deleted my account because I thought I wasn't welcome here. It was all in my head and I'm so glad I have my account back.

You're right, this site isn't for making friends. But it can happen. It's a bonus. A rare bonus, but it's honestly not that important. What matters is being able to say how you truly feel without the usual societal consequences. And I hope you can do the same. If not, then at least you tried. You can be proud of that <3

This site purpose is to share information how we can make less suffering in taking our own lifes, if you decide to do it. Nobody is pushing it on to you thats what i like most about it. Also finding that your not the only one with struggles makes us more relatable.

That noone has responded to OP doesn't say we don't care, it is hard for people with a lot of problems to keep in touch or respond sometimes its nothing personal.

I hope OP realise although it's hard to make friends on such forum, he is not alone and we all try to help each other with information or just sharing thoughts❤️

I try not to get attached to people on this site and I don't try to make friends for my own reasons. I just don't think it's the best idea for me. People here do care about other people's stories. I'm sorry you haven't experienced that for yourself yet. There are lots of kind and understanding people here🙏. There could be so many reasons why threads don't get reactions/responses. It's not always because people don't care. It could be the time of day that you post or the subject matter you're talking about. There's certain topics being discussed that I stay away from because of my own triggers. It doesn't mean I don't care about others.

I also don't think it's very kind to call others "damaged goods". We're all struggling to some degree and putting others down isn't gonna help.

Competing for attention and comments of pity?!?!?! Yeah, definitely don't use this site for that.

You only need to matter to yourself and hopefully a few other people (or even just pets) in this world. You shouldn't need to be the scene stealing showstopping standout center of attention everywhere you go to think you have value. If you do, get therapy to figure out why. Base your decision to CTB purely on yourself, not on the attention or lack thereof or even the occasional rudeness of the other suicidal members of SaSu.

I always liked your username btw, it reminds me of Mr. & Mrs. Smith (the series).

Your point of view is interesting. It isn't wrong at its core, but it ends up being subjective. On the other hand, expecting friendship doesn't seem to make much sense. What is more common is empathy—the feeling that we aren't crazy or sick just because we want to die. The site is crucial to me in that regard. The feeling of wanting to die has been with me for years, and this site is the only place where I don't feel like an oddity.

This is a rare place that I feel understood. I don't even post very much but reading other's comments makes me feel a little less alone. Even with no reactions or comments, I still feel more understood sharing these kinds of thoughts here than in any other place. A sort of welcoming void to share tough thoughts.
The feelings and sentiments expressed aren't automatically rejected, mocked, feared, etc. I feel like that alone gives this community a leg up vs mainstream/normal social dialogue.

Everyone's story does matter. The sequence of events and foundation behind what led to a tragedy is important. Besides being an outlet for expressing the culmination of one's life story as a coping mechanism, this is the only known platform where the inner working of a truly suicidal person's mind, mental state, and factors that contribute(d) to premature mortality can be identified and studied for prevention purposes, such as identifying the root causes and factors which lead people to take their lives.

I have read hundreds of stories over the years. While I've only replied to a handful where I actually had something substantiative to add beyond the superficial tokens of solidarity, the absence of any responses does not mean the person has not been heard or noticed. People in significant and excruciating distress do not always have the energy or resources to engage in as much as they would want to. I have personally met many people from this site. Some of them have recovered and remain friends, others are still hanging in the balance. Although, I agree that it's not a good idea to meet people at random or create bonds with others if death is in fact an imminent outcome. Your thoughts and contributions are acknowledged and appreciated though.

This is a forum, and its function is more or less similar to social media for the suicidals. People will use this site however they want as long as they comply to the guidelines. Sorry if your story went under the radar, but that doesn't mean others will too. I just don't like the way you are so certain about what to do and what not based on literal nothing.

Thank you. I think this is my last post I'll make. There's no point in my staying here anymore, I already have the information I need. I'm sorry if the post came off rude or mean to anyone. I've come to realize that my mindset and personality just isn't really compatible with most people on here. My experience on this forum is pretty much the same experience I've had on other platforms, just with a touch bit more suicide. Most of the replies on this thread reveal that I'm not wanted here, so since that I can't relate to anyone, and no one can relate to me, I'll end my visit. I am at least thankful for this forum providing information on my chosen ctb method.

I figure Sasu is what one makes of it. I wouldn't say people here don't take care though. From all I read people here a very helpful, informative, well intentioned and kind. Especially on goodbye posts, on many you see people talking with the person who's dying while they can still respond or just before they commit. Others here have recovered and our members seem to always support people who seek recovery and frequently stress fighting how much possible before giving in. I think the community here is overall very nice.

Just to balance this a little, on the recovery side of the forum is quite wholesome so feel free to post/reply/join if anyone need a safe space

Good news, bad news, shit news, happy to hear it

The sucide discussion forums imho is quite supportive too as well. People here are lovely

I don't agree with OP. Of course you don't get a lot of responses for every post. But most of the time at least a few people answer. And it is still a good way to pass the time. And although I didn't exactly make friends here, I am glad I can interact with people here when I am limited in my interaction with people in real life. And it is also reassuring to be able to discuss topics here that are hard to discuss with people in real life, because it causes people to be worried. For me this site is a bit like an online living room and I am not willing to give up on it.
