I just got all 4 of mine taken out yesterday, curious to hear what your guys's experiences have been like.

So far there hasn't been much pain and what pain there has been, has been manageable. I got pretty bad swelling on day 2, I look like a chipmunk right now! But mostly, it's just annoying to have my life interrupted and not be able to eat/move normally. The enormous financial cost was also annoying.

I avoided getting this surgery for years because I thought I wouldn't live long enough to justify the expense and encumbrance. Unfortunately I'm still here, and I'm not sure when my window to CTB will open up next, and one of wisdom teeth was starting to cause problems, so my hand was kind of forced. It'll be awfully ironic if I do end up CTBing sometime next year though.

ngl, I completely forgot about my experience with that~ xD It's good to have poor memory after all! ^_^ I think I read Ani-com (a manga) before doing it~ :) I was going to test how much of it I remembered to see how much anesthesia messed with memories, but I had to stop when they took me to the surgery room~ :/ so I just read and remembered a good manga instead! hehe~

I remember something about having puffy, hurty cheeks too tho! :) and thinking I wasn't allowed to take painkillers on the 1st day making it really awful~ >_< It was fine (from the standpoint of I don't have any memories) with painkillers tho~ :)
I hope it heals soon for you, and that you get lots of painkillers until it dies down! ^_^ it's unfortunate that you're still in pain in this world tho~ :( I wish things could be better for you~ >_<

It wasn't really painful, just really gross to have all those blood clots in your mouth.
When I was waking up from anesthesia, I tried to fight the nurse for insisting I needed a wheelchair.

My top teeth came in fine, the bottom two just never came past the gumline much but they never caused problems.

One top wisdom tooth rotted so badly that it just broke in half, but it didn't hurt at all. Dentist took out both top teeth then.

Later on I had to get a regular molar removed and they also yanked the lower wisdom tooth that was near it since I was numb anyways. I just have the bottom right wisdom tooth left, it's caused no problems.

No, I know they have started coming out and dentists are saying there is no issues so far and I don't feel any pain or discomfort from them. tho I am in my early 20s so don't know if that will change.

Interesting thread. Dentists recommended I have mine removed years ago, but they're still there and not bothering me. Touch wood ... Reminds me I'm overdue for a dentist visit.

Good luck! Don't be shy to ask your dentist any questions beforehand; I couldn't think of any on the spot and so I had to go to the internet for a lot of info, which wasn't very helpful because there's so much conflicting information out there. For example, is it okay to eat dairy? When can you start drinking coffee and tea (cold or lukewarm)? Should you be gargling with salt water after?

Nobody would remove mine for the longest time for many fun reasons. They began to impact my other teeth. Then when I was homeless one of them cracked in my jaw and caused an abscess that got within a day or two of killing me before the local ER removed them. Still have a quarter shaped lumpy scar on my neck.

Thanks, that's helpful, I'll prepare a few questions. It will be interesting, since my dentist speaks very little English but thankfully, we have Google Translate.
