Pictures in your mind?

I found out about a year ago that when people say they can see things in their mind they really can, they are not just thinking about the thing they are thinking about but seeing it. This blew my mind as I can't at all. I see pictures in dreams but otherwise when I close my eyes it's just black. Apparently it's a thing and I just wondered if it's something that's different in the brain and how common it is amongst us guys?

If you can't imagine things, how can you learn?

OP, my experience is identical to yours.

Furthermore, I don't have stereovision so I don't see in 3-D, nor do I in my dreams. I have seen in 3-D a handful of times so do I know what it's like in comparison to my 2-D functioning.

I think I can see things in my mind but idk what happens in other people's minds so not sure how to compare
