The people who never frown eventually breakdown

I came across a post today on social media that honestly made my blood boil. A woman posted a "candid" photo of her family member who has cancer crying in a kitchen. The entire post was about how strong she was, even going as far to brag about how she was making lunch for others despite going through chemo. :meh: And all thr comments were all like "she's so strong" or "you're luckyto still have her", etc while the poster ate it up with no one asking the obvious of 'what are you doing to actually help her?' Cause posting a vulnerable pic for likes and views ain't where it's at.

And it made me think that this is exactly why I don't want to be here anymore. People are so freaking selfish. They don't want to truly help anyone, they just want a pat on the back for noticing you are in a bad spot while not actually doing anything constructive to help. It just pisses me off and has made my resolve to CTB before I find myself in a spot like that, even greater.

Completely agree—it's infuriating when people use others' suffering for attention. True support isn't about likes; it's about actually being there.

I feel what you're saying. It mutes the whole "loved ones" narrative that pro-lifers try to use when dissuading suicide. It's never about the person who caught the bus. It's always about the people left behind. And they make it about themselves. I guess that's the human way to cope with loss. I feel the same way you do. This behavior is just another example of human self aggrandizing.

That's exactly it! It's never about being there for someone or about their pain and suffering. It always comes back to people wanting to be happy in their bubble, no matter what the other person is going through or has been through. This is why I am pro choice when it comes to suicide. Everyone has a line they can't come back from when it comes to suffering, and it's different for us all. Who the hell am I to say suck it to buttercup, just so I can selfishly have more time with you while you continue to suffer. It's so selfish!
