Even if your in pain and are being abused like for years I've been telling doctors, nurses, social services and mental health services and they do still nothing to protect you. It's up to me to end my suffering

I feel this too, like the world is gaslighting me. Then when it's too late it's all this "if only they'd sought help" nonsense. As a society we need to collectively admit we don't care about people's suffering.

This isn't true now is it? There have been many instances of people helping others, saving others etc.. etc.. They didn't have to but they did because its the right thing to do.

The real problem is that society cannot help everyone so some people fall through the cracks. It's horrible and unfair but statistically speaking, it's an inevitability.

Also, people you've never met are unlikely to care about your suffering unless they've experienced it too and can therefore relate, or, they're close to you. For example, if some bus fucks off a cliff in Kazakhstan and 10 kids die, I literally don't care. But I'll care if its my nephews.

Most of the people here in SS do in some way care because we can relate, but very few (if any) are able to help.

The Caroline Flack documentary really highlighted that for me, like she was pushed so far, harassed, demonized by everyone then she kills herself and suddenly everyone cares and feels bad lol
And even then everyone's care and concern only lasts for a certain amount of time and then the novelty wears off

Yes, we experience so much pain and suffering that is invisible to everyone else. People can only ever comprehend it if they have been through something similar. I think many others only care about what directly affects them as humans are naturally selfish. I wish society was more compassionate, allowing us to have a peaceful exit at a time of our own choosing. It is cruel expecting people to suffer for decades.

I never had the motivation to change anything about my situation- my whole life I've been living in a "so what - just carry on" mindset - couldn't tell anyone about things that happened, my tremendous physical pain or now my mental state.

It's like something is blocking me from actually opening up as I - 1. feel like it's "a lot of work" & 2. the outcome will be minimal and not actually make anything in my current situation any better,

I will stay silent about most of the things I went through until I ctb - but I also think nothing/nobody could help me at this point.

Thing is, I'd rather they know I'm in pain. But of course, if you let people know, usually most of them don't want to hear it or they even have some hostile things to say, to blame you for it. So that is really the reason why I don't talk about it

Anytime I complain about my pain I am called selfish by everyone except my wife and told that I am making it all about myself and don't think of others. You think people actually do care but then when u get in a situation like this I have realized they really don't care. It's fucked up and sad and it's an ugly side of life I wish I was never exposed to. I suffer every fucking day and all I want is a dignified death immediately but I don't get it and am left to suffer because I am too afraid of fucking up my death and becoming a quadriplegic. For what? To keep other people around me happy? It honestly makes no sense the society we live in sometimes. Maybe it works for the majority I guess.
