Not a silly thing at all. I have a lot of memories associated with + important things stored on my computer and I'd imagine you do as well. Not to mention, the amount of money that goes into these.

I'm sorry about your PC, I'd be upset and annoyed by the tiniest comments too tbqh. I'll hope for your sanity that you figure it out.

Thank you so much. In actuality there's nothing important on the pc at all. If it were mine I'd simply take it as a loss and move on. It's a family pc. I think my parents bothering me about it while i was already stressed by the issue was mkre kf the reason i got so upset. Plus i notice that because of my impatience/lack of knowledge and poor handling, i keep breaking things i try tk fix. I've broke so much stuff and accidentally erased a lot of actually importsnt photos and memories that every time i fuck up those last events weigh on me as well.

Not to mention my personal laptop has stopped working two weeks ago. I don't know if i slammed it too hard but the mktherboard is damaged and the battery doesn't work anymore and so i can only use it at home.

It's just one thing after another in my life

Did you slam the keyboard? I used to do this all the time when I was younger and went through 3 laptops very easily, and as a result broke all of their motherboards.

It was more like i kept slamming it onto the table when i take it out of my bag. Which is stupid kf me but slamming is definitely the cause.

So sorry that happened.

I'm dealing with real bad impatience, and anger issues mostly caused by my parenrs and work. I can only just hope things get better.

Thanks so much for chatting with me and reading my rant. I feel much better

i know that feel and its not silly. sometimes its just bad luck, recently my pc would also stop booting up. i got frustrated, unplugged, plugged back in, still not working.. then i put out the 4 ram sticks and replugged. then it worked, but honestly i didnt know what it caused. if it didnt work i would also freak out, ram got so expensive.. what configuration do you have? if you dont have 4/4 ram then theres a specific order the ram has to be plugged in but you probably know. sometimes its silly misconfigurations. pressing thumbs that you get it working

It's actually a super old hp compaq elite 8300 i was upgrading for fun. The issue is definitely, either the ram is bad or the motherboard is bad so I'm waiting on wednesday to get new ram to put in it. Itsthe old ram i was planning to replace so it's not that bad but if i have to change the motherboard I'll be super upset. I already tried unplugging the ram and such cause it got knocked loose while i was trying to turn the hdd into mass storage. I'm hoping leaving it alone these next few days will just make it work.

Thank u for the advice

My new RAM arrived and now everything is working perfectly fine!!! Yayyyyyy

Now I feel even sillier for wanting to die over this. I even managed to install some games on it.

I wanted to add city skylines: II but steam couldn't run it even with proton

But it's whatever, i don't even play games all that much anyway.

I feel the same about computers too. For some reason I manage to fuck up my linux operating system and had to revert to my last backup many times.

I decided to linux is just too much work for me as a depressed person. I prefer that all my video games will be able to work on operating system rather than be proud of my Riced debian setup but too afraid to try installing video games on it.

I found a middleground - I found out that on VMware Workstation Pro the linux virtual machines actually work smoothly compared to lackluster virtualbox. So I decided I will just use Windows 11 as my bare metal operating system and use linux in virtual machines which I can safely rice and tinker without being sad that I can't play some video games.

That's very smart!! The main reason i switched to linux was just because my computer was too old to handle latest Microsoft os. It was already struggling for life on windows 10. Which is crazy cause i used to use autocad on it but then more and more software updates chose not to optimize for older devices, so i switched to linux mint since it was the easiest os for newbies like me.

I commend you a lot for even attempting ricing and all that other complicated stuff. It seems really cool and I'm glad you found a way to keep playing around with linux while also playing games.

The pc i upgraded is more of a family workstation that's why I'm not that ummed out about not being able to play many games.

But i really wanna play cities skylines and it's just not working but I'll just keep trying till it works without accidentally fucking up my pc

Thanks. My Laptop isn't strong in the graphics department either. I play old games so I don't need a hardware upgrade for now.

A lot of us spend a lot of our time on our computers and Our whole life is pretty much inside them. It's totally reasonable to get upset. I had a MOSFET on my motherboard go out About a year ago And due to the lack of shielding, a horrible wailing noise was coming from a computer while it was Turned on. I had to do a total rebuild and it was pretty stressful. I have severe neuropathy in my hands. ,while I have the knowledge to build a computer from scratch. Executing on it is quite difficult for me.

I wouldn't beat yourself up too much Over mishandling something or something breaking. If we're too afraid to take the risk To open something up None of us would ever leave the house. I actually also like gacha games. Although just arc knights at the moment. And I'm free to play

Thank you so much. I'll try to be nicer on myself. I was honestly more stressed than usual since it's the family computer instead of my personal computer.

Is it Arknights Enfield you play or the okder one? I wanted to olay Enfield but I'm already playing a bunch other games and i told myself after Zenless Zone Zero i wouldn't play any more games without character customization

I play the older one, the strategy one. It's better now, but for a few years I could only play games with a mouse and couldn't use a keyboard. So mobile clicking games was ideal at the time. I just played them through the emulator on my PC and use a trackball mouse.

I don't know if it makes you feel better, but it's pretty unlikely that working in the floor damaged your computer. Most parts have significant shielding They won't break from electrical shock from your body. Sometimes computers are just fragile and weird things break. I literally had one computer break on me and all I did was move to a new apartment. I took the computer out of the room and put it in my car and drove for a few hours and carried it into the new room and when I tried turning it on later that night it was borked. Sometimes that's all it takes . It's not necessarily your fault.

It's a thinkpad e14 gen 3. Nowadays I don't play any games to be honest. But around 2 months ago when I was still on Windows 11 I was playing heroes of might and magic 3's SOD campaign.

This is such a silly thing to cry about but I'm just really upset. I was upgrading my pc and i guess i was getting frustrated and just being careless so i worked on the floor instead of a table and didn't handle the parts as carefully as usual and now it's not booting up. I'm hoping the ram sticks are the issue and the news ones i ordered some time ago will arrive kn wednesday and fix rhe issue cause if it's a motherboard issu I'll break down.

I just wish things would go well fpr me for once. Like why can't i just be one of the lucky ppl that can be rough with my pc and it's still ok.

I'm so tired and when i was trying to fix it my mother wouldn't stop hovering and wouldn't leave me alone like omfg fucl off.

Like she kept telling me to go to bed and other things that i was too stressed to hear.

I'm a fucking adult i know when i need to fucking sleep. My job takes my whole day. The only time i have at home is to fucking sleep.

I hate my shitty life so much.

Hey, I kept perusing this post but didn't fully read it and the replies until today.

I'm glad that you got it resolved and can totally relate to needing a lot more focus when accomplishing tasks.

My mom can be very clingy and annoying which makes everything more difficult since I'm visually impaired.

I need a lot more concentration than most people.

Everything works now. thanks for the advice. It's originally a windows pc, but i switched it to run linux mint. The failure was post since HP has like beep codes when it doesn't post. I knew it was a ram issue because it was 5 beeps. Switching the ram fixed the issue but I won't lie i honestly don't know if the stick or port is the issue. Cause I switched from 4 2GB rams to 2 8GB rams. So like the two unused slots could be broken or the old ram. But i'm not gonna open it up and find out lol.

I'm tired of fucking with it.
