Yes, I'm aware of how difficult and unlikely it is for a successful suicide to be achieved by overdosing on OTC drugs. Even illegal and powerful drugs! But what about overdosing to go unconscious? Just enter a coma while submerged in water, shouldn't death by drowning be fast, painless, and guaranteed? Effective suicide methods, that are made nearly impossible by SI, become accessible during a coma. Anyone that has a bathtub and water can drown themselves at any time, the only thing in their way is SI. And if I'm unconscious, that shouldn't be a problem.
Pharmaceuticals are out of the question since doctors (in my area) seem terrified to prescribe anything besides basic drugs like antidepressants, and I currently have no knowledge of buying things off the deep web, so I'm limited to OTC medications. Are there any accessible drugs, that potentiated with alcohol, could reliably induce a coma that's deep enough to drown in? And can you think of ways someone could survive going unconscious while submerged in water? The only thing I can think of, would be vomiting: a coma might not be achieved when the drugs supposed to cause it are being puked out. I've heard that anti-emetics can reduce the urge to vomit but I don't think that would make any difference during a serious overdose.
BTW, I've already tried the shallow water blackout technique after aggressively hyperventilating for twenty minutes: it didn't work.
