Ordering dmc

I'm so confused. So I ordered an Amazon gift card with a Visa gift card but because it's a Visa gift card not a normal CC it has been in processing for a couple days so I can't order sn.

But are all these extra steps even necessary? Why take such precautions and not just use my regular credit card to order?

I'm ready to see if I can cancel the darn thing because taking all this extra steps is just making this difficult and what is the purpose anyway?
