I sleep a lot, like a lot; it's as though I run constantly on low fuel no matter how much, how consistently or how long I sleep it's unbearable.

I'm just constantly tired, extremely tired to where my body is just constant exertion to do just about any task. I still work out hard as it's one of the obligations I place onto myself for a while now but just living life gets so draining that I would sometimes collapse at home, just a genuine blackout where I forget where I am or what time of day it is.

I've been on sleeping medication and it never really helped as, again, it's like this no matter how good or bad of a sleep Ive had or how consistently it is. I have genuine permanent dark circles from this seemingly life long sleep deprivity… I can't even remember if I never not been like this.

do you have any other symptoms? There's a few different medical conditions that could cause this.

I'm not exactly sure what could be considered a symptom of whatever is affecting me, and what's just something else about my body unrelated to this.

I dissociate severely, struggle to understand my own emotions, can quickly change moods 'physically' but not actually 'feel' it, constant cloudy thoughts, low appetite etc.

When I've went to the doctors about it when I first started my antidepressants, they just considered me severely depressed rather than consider it as a certain medical condition on its own right.

Have you ever had your thyroid hormones checked? Constant tiredness can be a sign of hypothyroidism. Depression, low appetite, and dark circles under the eyes can also be signs. You mentioned working out a lot as well. Do you have trouble losing weight? If you do then there's a good chance you have a thyroid issue.

Severe depression can certainly be a factor in some of this, but what you described definitely sounds like it has a physical cause.

Hm, no, I was born severely underweight as I was expected to be a stillborn and been skinny for most my life before I started building some muscle; I had more trouble gaining weight (though I can note that my body fat % seems very very stubborn).

I never had any hormones checked, but I can go to the doctors about it as I already have a checkup appointment for antidepressants anyways in a week. Thanks for taking your time trying to help btw, I'm not sure if it is a physical issue or not but I can tell it's definitely not just depression.

You may suffer from sleep apnea (I do). Or maybe CFS. Try to do some tests if you can. A blood test is the first thing to do.
I know what it is. I'm always tired too. Good luck 🙏

Yes, well currently my diet is heavy on the protein side but even when I was balancing my meals and consistently it was just exactly the same, it's something that just never really fluctuated on how tired I was.
