My bedroom friend has been diagnosed with extensive bone cancer

I know he hasn't told me because he is afraid it will push me iver the edge.

before he'd requested no treatment exceot painkillers. Apparently that's nit viewed as acceptable medical procedure.

I love him with all my heart. I also wish I had the nerve to bring up SN but he's surrounded by medical staff.

I'm sorry - what a hard and painful situation. I gather he now knows you know? Is he hospitalized? Have you talked with him about his current wishes?

I guess it depends where you live, but if a patient requests only palliative care, that should be honored. But I know doctors often work hard to change people's minds.

Ohhh no - can I ask what country you're in? If he hasn't changed his mind about palliative care, and if his wife isn't pushing for treatment, his wishes should be respected. Can you find a patients' rights advisor, or a palliative care agency, to clarify what can and can't be done if he is sure he wants palliative care only?

You know, I have not only wished fir the very same thing but I have said thst outright ti his face.

Now that I see the awful reality my feelings have changed.

and I'm even more happy thst I have found options.
