I know almost all of you will say that money will change your life and make you happy , but trust me. Money only buys temporary happiness all other statement in MY opinion are wrong , why? Well because when you get money , and for example take it that you are someone with a lot of debt but you get enough money to pay it back and then start your life again , after you have achieved your initial goal of picking yourself back up , you will always strive for more , i realised this the hard way , but no matter who you are elon musk , or the poorest of the poor , you will eventually realise that money DOES buy you happiness but it always leaves you striving for more , you can be happy when you get what you want but after some time with the object / desire in your life you will start striving for more. Now this was just my opinion , I would like to know your thoughts on this matter "money only buys temporary happiness"

No, it wouldn't make me wish to be burdened with this futile, torturous existence, I could personally never believe in such a thing as happiness rather I see existence as an abomination that just causes harm and suffering until non-existence takes away all anyway, for me existence itself is the true problem and simply being conscious in this existence is enough to make me wish for death. I find it so tragic how this existence that was completely unnecessary was even imposed at all causing all this suffering as a result, I find it horrific how a human can suffer for so long just to be tortured by old age, for me non-existence really is the only peace and is all I could ever see as desirable, only the peace of an eternal dreamless sleep where all is gone and forgotten is positive for me.

There used to be times where I had more money than now but yeah, didn't really make me happier. Not having money when you need it has the capacity to make you really miserable, though.

Imo it's a little bit more complex. Money may only buy temporary happiness if we have enough money and we don't need to worry about money but money is also security and is the key to a sorrow-free life on many levels.

I would prefer a loving girlfriend. But if I can't have that, a shitload of money would kind of improve my mood

Money only buys pleasure, not happiness. Happiness is something else entirely. Happiness comes from hard shit.Worked hard to clear an exam. You're gonna be happy. Got married to the person you love? You're going to be happy. Relationships are extremely hard work. I worked hard to build a successful business. Yes, that causes happiness. Money itself will not bring you happiness.

Well...therapy isn't free! Having a roof over your head is a pretty effective way to not be miserable! I don't think I'd entirely agree.
you will eventually realise that money DOES buy you happiness but it always leaves you striving for more , you can be happy when you get what you want but after some time with the object / desire in your life you will start striving for more.
In my own personal life experiences this hasn't been true for me...I have enough money to live my life for the most part comfortably and that is all I need. I don't spend much money on myself most of it is going to rent and food. I care much more about trying (and usually failing, alas!) to achieve inner peace over physical possessions. ^-^

Well not to be that person but if money had bought you permanent happiness, i dont think you would be here ,i get that money does give you happiness but despite that people who are sad will remain sad because truth to be told they either have a problem in their mental health , or despite having money rejected from society or simply striving for more ;-;

Money buys opportunity. Opportunities for meaning. Happiness is derived from meaning. So it is not money per se.

For instance money may make you an attractive romantic partner allowing you to get married. That would give your life meaning. Okay marriage typically brings kids more meaning. Especially if you can go i have enough money to make sure they are taken care of.

Depending on the circumstances and age money can allow you to pursue that meaningful career. The one that allows you to look in the mirror and feel satisfied.

You can do this with just about everything and I'll stop here. The only thing you can't do it for is religion. Though this is slightly undercut by the fact one of the reasons besides tax breaks people give to charity is because it gives them makes them feel good because it gave them meaning.

Money alone won't make you happy. It's the things money allows you to do that does.
