I listened to the full Black Parade album by MCR recently and really liked it. The story of someone dying with regret and the feeling that they won't be missed really resonates. I also have been really liking Get Scared as of late, pretty much nothing but good songs other than the one album where they had a different lead singer

I don't know if I have posted here before or not because I tend to like posting in music threads.

Anyway, here's my girl's newest EP JIGOKU6. My favorite song is Black Sheep.
The concept is her "personal hell". I don't consider Future Island part of the EP as it's an AD song that was just shoved in there. Black Sheep and Carousel of Imaginary Images are mostly really about HER struggles and not as relatable, but I think the chorus in Black Sheep is really powerful. I wasn't expecting a hopeful comeback in a song like that. The visuals are also really great, they were made by herself.



Six feet under has some ok lyrics that I don't fully get. The prod isn't good at all in my opinion really, but it's an ok opening to where the EP starts getting into a hopeless vibe.

After that comes You're not special, which hits really hard and is the raw truth. Has kind of a nihilist vibe which I'm very neutral about, lol.



The last song is really good and the one I relate to the most. Left for Dead Lullaby.
It's a pretty hopeless song. I see it as- something that would make people think you gave up, yet for some reason it makes me want to not give up at all.

This part in specific really gets me.
"Time never heals
Your hell is all that's real
The walls are falling in on us, and yet
Words like "regret" won't wet my lips
There are moments I'd change if I could
But searching for atonement does not ensure "good""

The song goes on a one-way downward spiral as she herself says. Right as the song is about to end though, right after a plead for salvation, to be taken back to simpler times, she comes in again with a last drop of hope.

It's not over.


I think these make her best release so far, talking albums and EPs.
It's very raw, the concept of a personal hell is a really great idea and it speaks to me. But she stays hopeful as I give up any last shred of hope.
I'm hoping she continues following this direction in music and I'm excited for what's to come if I'm here to see it.
