Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

First phone screening I've gotten in months of applying. I prepared, but I guess not enough. I felt confident going in but immediately choked and could barely answer the questions. I rambled, repeated myself, stuttered, etc. It was just a 15 minute screening, but I already know I'm not getting the job.

I don't get how so many people just walk into well-paying full-time jobs, and I get nothing. My anxiety has cost me so much already. I'm about to turn 24, I have a college degree, and I have nothing to show for it. I still live with my parents and they don't even like me. I've been living with them for almost a year now, doing absolutely nothing, and it's been the worst year of my life. I would literally do anything just to have a job.

But yeah, I guess it's another 3 months at least before I get my next interview. My employed friends get to spend those 3 months out in the world and I get to spend them sitting in the basement listening to my mom and stepdad yell at each other. It's honestly a mystery to me why I haven't just ended it already, but if I'm lazy enough to still not have a job, I'm lazy enough not to CTB.

I have kids about your age and work with some people, and know some at church, and I can tell you... people your age have it TOUGH, you are by no means unusual. I know you're seeing others get jobs but there are many many others just like you. It's not fair and it's not your fault. I think the secret in this case is to refuse to give up on the job search (I know you didn't say you gave up). I've suggested to people that they volunteer somewhere, at a hospital or an animal shelter, to show that they are reliable and who knows who you might meet there, but no one ever listens to me when I say that, although I really think it's a good idea. You got a degree, that's a good accomplishment and one way or another it will serve you well. Who knows, they might call you back, let us know.

I haven't given up yet, although I'm pretty close some days. The whole "cold applying" thing doesn't work. My plan is to get a job through a temp agency and hopefully that will be enough to start moving my life forward, just enough.
I don't volunteer, but I am a tutor. So there's that.
Thanks for what you said, it genuinely did make me feel better. I hope you have a great day.
