• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

If you never had it in the first place you might be better off temporarily, our feeling respond to contrast and change more than totality. The feelings of loss will subside, it's all just a form of the overarching principle of the gambler's fallacy in combination with the subconscious belief that there are several potential "pasts".

How'd you lose it?

I'm really sorry brother. That must be horrible. How did it happen, if I'm not too rude? Theft?

I don't know your circumstances NEM, but if it took you a long time to save then it's no wonder you feel "What's the point?". It's like planting for apples but getting lemons.

Do you want to talk about what happened?

I'm not sure if I can relate but I lost about 70% of my life savings in 2008/9 when I was ~30. Would be happy to discuss.

Damn bro, I'm so sorry.

People say money isn't everything but, isn't it really?
Without money, we can't even have a daily meal.

I hope things improve somehow.

Feel free to explain to us how you lost it! Maybe there's a way to get it back or at least some part of it? Gosh I lost some money because of online bets some years ago and I felt terrible so I can kinda relate.

Wish you the best, pal.

Something like this has never happened to me, but I can feel you. Money has a great value in our society as it gives us food, a home and to some extend happiness / quality of life.

I'm also curious about what happened, though it is ok if you don't want to tell us. But is it really the end of the world for you? I mean I am a student with no job so I know nothing, but I can imagine that it is possible to save up again?

I feel you friend. I have had to start from scratch with saving up so many times. Life is so empty these days, it feels like money is the only thing that matters. And when that goes too, you lose all motivation.

Clearly it isn't the only thing that matters, since you're still unhappy if you're wealthy but unhealthy and lonely.
The problem is that OP invested a lot of time in savings, so it can be devastating for him.

to those who are asking, I made an investment on a company that went bankrupt. Somehow, I didn't know it could get that bad when I did the investment. It was 4 years ago and I still miss that load of money.
