It has took a ball achingly long time to live to 37. The thought of repeating that time frame, doubling the time, feels unfathomable.

I feel old. To be fair, I felt great up until 29, all the way from 18. But my thirties have been a chore.

I can def understand y u would find that statement irritating.. But, I do believe that it doesn't mean that the persons life is "short" in terms of how many years they have been alive and the extent of pain they have endured. But more so, "I'm gonna live for today, cuz life is short" ..Meaning, "I have lived thus far, but could possibly die tomorrow.." As we know, tomorrow is promised to no man...
I have personally said that statement at least a million times (even yesterday..lol) as an explanation as to why I REFUUUUUUUUUSE to take shit or make ANYONE disturb what little peace I have..cuz "life is short"..lol..

Life is short if you are happy and the years just keep passing and you would like to live on.
Life is enormously long if you are in pain and suffer and just want it to end already.

It's the funniest too to hear it from someone who is marginally older than you. Like, of course it's short for you now. I usually don't take the statement to heart. I mean, they told me high school was short and that you won't even remember it, that was obviously a lie.
