TMI TMI TMI. Sorry I am oversharing but this is my only safe space.

Don't read further if talk about shitting grosses you out.

I have been crying for one hour now. It's so bad I want to die rn. I have taken two doses of my laxative syrup but the stools are too hard to pass, so I am mentally terrified to poop. In a lot of discomfort. I have gotten enemas before but that was for an extreme level, this isn't one thankfully. My anus hurts so bad. Please keep me in your prayers.

I have been there and you will be ok.

-DRINK TONS OF WATER
-get some Dulcolax suppositories. They will stimulate a BM in 15-20 minutes
-Magnesium Citrate Drink. These work within a few hours and will clean you out. Plan on spending the day at home near a toilet.
-Digital removal. If it's low enough in rectum, lube a finger and manually dig it out.

I know this sucks and is embarrassing. Do you know what is causing it? Medical condition? Opioids?

I have had a chronic yeast infection for months because of my high sugar consumption. I have a bad diet in general. I think these are to blame.

I am too afraid of suppositories and enemas tbh. Idk where to get mag citrate. I know I keep giving excuses but yeah...

Mag Citrate can be bought at any pharmacy, Walmart, target, some big grocery stores.

The suppository is something you should consider. They are small and no big deal to put in and are not nearly as aggressive as an enema.

Once you get this immediate issue handled, you should consider taking MiraLAX twice a day to soften stool.

I live in India and don't have a lot of money tbh

I am going to drink a lot of water and have some more laxative syrup. Just praying at this point

Wouldn't take more fibre at this point just cause the poop to be more backed up?

No. What psyllium husk will do is absorb more water and lubricate things down there so that it moves out more freely. But you have to drink a lot more water with it. If you do not drink enough water, it will ball up into a solid substance and create more problems.Try it.It's a game changer.

I ended up pooping that day after a lot of hot water, a banana and some raisins. But my constipation is back again. And this time it hurts so bad. It feels so sharp and hard inside. I will have to go get an enema. I am in so much pain.

Literally listened to a podcast on GI health yesterday. The biggest thing you can do for your gut health is get enough dietary fiber, which 95% of people do not do. Some tips:
  • The average person needs 22g-34g of fiber per day but usually gets less than 5g!
  • Fiber helps you feel full longer and regulates your bowel movements.
  • Good fiber sources: chia seeds, raspberries, beans/legumes, apples with skin, and more!
  • Start small! Fiber will give you gas until your gut bacteria adjust to it. Start with adding 5g for a few weeks, then see how you feel.
  • As said above DRINK WATER! Some fiber need water to do its best work.
I just started the journey myself and some TMI from me, I did not know pooping could be so nice. 😅

FRIENDS. I am unsure if I have fully evacuated my bowels, but....I have pooped most of it out. I think. I am so stressed I can't even figure out if I have done the deed fully. Here's what helped in case it is useful: drinking lots of hot water, three doses (45ml totally) of laxative syrup, having an override banana.

I am still scared of my next poop. I will be having some more fibre, lots of hot water, showering everyday because apparently it helps. I hope to update with positive news tomorrow. Thank you all for commenting and making me feel less scared!!!

So glad you finally pooped. Lord knows I relate to this far too well.

Personally I take a fibre supplement drink every night, and fairly weak laxative almost every day, which SOMEWHAT gets the job done, but still struggle regularly. I need to get onto a better/ stronger laxative, but I think I'm scared to out of fear of not knowing how well it will work and worried it'll screw me over it work 😂

This is very hard, hopefully you're doing well now. Fiber works a lot with your digestive system helping the transportation of feces more efficiently along with water, the amount of water per day should be at least 2 L to 2.5 L, your weight plays a lot here. And also, you mentioned a tough diet but I also have a similar one, and fiber (mango, dragon fruit, papaya) and water fruits also helps a lot like watermelon to induce your intestines to poop properly!

For me laxatives are the last options because they're really bad for your gut flora, also probiotics as yogurt helps with being constipated!
