Honestly I am probably speaking to the choir considering why we are most likely here, but it sincerely feels like this is tje bad place and they are trying to keep us deluded into thinking something good to give us stability again. To stall us from us trying to escape or something. I realized the only things I care about in this world also give me pain...
Pain and pleasure are said to go hand in hand in some idealolgies...

Life is great for those who benefit from it (Having looks, talent, money)

Life is neutral for people who don't care about any of those one way or the other

Life is terrible for those that go through issues that severely impact their lives (Dysphoria, trauma, abuse)
