Help Is it okay to store SN (sodium nitrite) at home?

Hi, everyone. I've practically already bought some SN for myself to make CTB.

But then I realized I'm not sure I'll have time to make the CTB anytime soon.

The problem is that I don't live alone—my parents and my cat also live in my small apartment—and the smallest amount of SN sold is a 1-kg package. It just dawned on me that keeping even 1 kg somewhere in the apartment, even if hidden, might not be safe. I can't warn my parents that there's poison there, and there's really nowhere to hide a whole kilogram except in a closet or under the bed, and I'm worried that I might accidentally harm someone close to me, even just by having the chemical lying somewhere a couple of meters away from my family.

And I don't have a way to dispose of the SN either, unless there's a CTB, in which case I'd have to take the whole 1 kg with me and leave it somewhere...

So, what do you think—am I right to worry about storing SN at home when other people are around?

I'm even worried that the smell and vapors might somehow seep through the packaging, which could also be unsafe.

So, what should I do in this situation? Am I right to be worried, or can I just hide the 1 kg of SN somewhere in a closet and not worry about it? What do you think? Thanks

if you have your own wardrobe..keep it there?..

SN is Nitrite, btw

I don't know. But SN is NOT sodium nitrate, so if that's what you bought, it won't work to CTB.

Yes, I mean sodium nitrite. So if it stays in my room in wardobe and it's will safe? It will not release any airborne substances?
