I'm 27 and my only ever relationship has been with my married social worker. They gave me love and affection, so I did whatever they wanted for a year. They had my files and notes and knew everything about me. They abused me sexually and emotionally. But I put up with it because they gave me love and affection when they weren't abusing me, and I've never had that before.

How sad is that?

It's over now as I finally got away. But sometimes I still miss them because there was love, affection and care among it all.

My eldest sister - the same one who was a full-on psychopath from early childhood, with no apparent cause - ended up a social worker. I think it just legitimises controlling and bullying vulnerable people. (I'm sure not all are like that, though! I'd hate to see how many people she's harmed.

Sorry to hear about what you've been through. It's normal to desire love and affection. I've tried to distance myself from those feelings, only to wind up an unfeeling person in general. Lots of emotional repression. An endless curiosity over what it would feel like to really be loved.

Yes I can't believe this person is a social worker, even after it was reported. Their new job just said "it happens". They are very mentally unstable and abusive, to their partners anyway. They put on a very nice facade and people love them.

I do have some nice and caring social workers helping me through it, so they exist! Just the job seems to draw narcissistis/abusive people as much as it draws kind and compassionate people.

Haha yeah I'm traumatised after this I don't want another relationship ever again, altho I do miss being loved. Or thinking I was loved anyway.

That sounds like a horrible situation to have been in. I'm sorry that you have had to go through this, it is awful the way that some people treat others. I wish you relief from suffering.
