Help I want to make a lethal cocktail like DDMP as outlined in PPH. What do I do with pills?

How do I crush pills? Will a coffee bean grinder work? Or can I simply just dissolve these pills in water? If I did dissolve pills in water, would the potency be reduced in any manner?
