• Hey Guest,

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

i got a referral for therapy after i cut myself too deep and had to go to the er. honestly I'm feeling really pessimistic about all this. last time i tried therapy, it didn't do shit and i stopped after only 2 sessions because i didn't want to pay so much.

im already upset about getting a $1500 medical bill for an er visit and 3 stitches, i don't need even more financial strains to just give me even more reason to ctb. that's the biggest problem with mental health in this country. they never fix anything. mode often than not they just make things worse and give you more reasons to end it. all they do is hold you down so you can't do it in the moment.

not even sure if I'm gonna bother going to my appointment. i work night shifts and take the bus everywhere, i don't wanna have to stay up super late and spend hours waiting for busses just to waste my time.

therapy can be really useless or make things worse. it really depends on if the therapist cares to actually help you or just wants the money. sometimes you can learn useful skills to help cope with horrible feelings. that's all ive gotten from therapy and it's really not much. i hope whatever you choose works out well. i hope you don't feel any guilt if you choose not to go, and i hope it goes well if you go.

yeah i decided I'm not going. i make too much a year to qualify for benefits and it costs 190 dollars just to get a therapist. no thanks. when will the mental health industry learn that giving people even more financial strain won't make them feel better

I went to 3 visits, got a 750$ bill, and just gave up. My therapist wasn't helpful either. It's not like therapists have secret knowledge that you can't access on your own. You can research CBT and DBT and learn the coping mechanisms they teach. But if you already have some emotional intelligence, they aren't going to fix you. You probably already figured out everything they teach.
