I wanted to use jumping as method, but the bridge is over traffic so it's been difficult. It's also monitored at night and I was caught twice. I've seen way too many failed suicides working as an ER nurse and can't imagine any other way, but I was just thinking that if I went to a secluded forest and shot myself, not in the head because again I've seen failed attempts and am traumatized, but possibly in one leg a few times and allowed myself to just bleed out? I know it's an odd method, but I just can't think of any other's that I am able to confidentiality executive without that fear of ending up worse off.

I'm sorry that you are in this situation. It sounds really stressful. I do not think that I would ever be able to ctb by jumping, it sounds like a terrifying way to leave this world. I think that we all deserve the option of a peaceful exit without having to worry about the method failing, no one should have to resort to risky methods. I know that this life can be unbearable when you are suffering so much and are desperate to leave. I wish you the best in whatever you decide to do.

Isn't there a possibility with shooting yourself in the leg of completely missing a blood vessel? Wouldn't slicing yourself with a knife better accomplish the same thing? I'm sure it's going to hurt like hell. I don't recommend using this method to anyone. Seems like a difficult way to go to me. But, then again, I, also, ruled out the jumping method.

I feel like shooting yourself in the leg would be very painful and could take hours or even days. You could ultimately also fail and it end up just getting infected.

Jumping is good if you can find a good place SN and hanging are pretty solid methods, you only have to make sure you won't be disturbed for a few hours which isnt that hard for most people. Say you've going away for a few days on holiday and book a hotel room where you'll not be disturbed.

A shot in the leg has a high survival rate and infection is likely as fillthevoid pointed out.

It takes strong knowledge of the lower anatomy to be successful with your choice. Particularly, the femoral artery located in your thigh is most often fatal when lacerated.

Since OP has worked as an ER nurse, I'm guessing they know enough about where to shoot the leg. However, it sounds like a very painful way to go. Losing consciousness will likely not be immediate and the pain from the wound would be severe.

I'd say shooting in the heart is more fatal.
