Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I am quiet and dislike controversy. I also dislike fighting. I don't like to sell, overcome objections, defend opinions and in business I certainly don't care if you dislike what I or my company is selling; move on and don't use it. I feel like I'm worthless to the world because of that. If I'm not a "go getter" or a "type a win at alll costs" or a "winner" then I'm not only worthless, I absolutely have no place in the world today.

It's not that I don't like to improve things or build or create. But I truly don't care if I or the group I'm with wins or not. I'm honest about this to the businesses I work with and I think that the aggressive type A win at alll costs costs kind of people hate it or consider it weak.

I'm employed but I've been asked "why should you be considered for a promotion over someone else?" I think the expected answer is something about winning and teamwork and success blah blah. But the true answer to me is "I don't know, maybe you have a two time Nobel prize winner willing to do the job for free and they're the better candidate, doesn't my resume tell you whether or not I'm useful?"

I never fail to solve things when I need to. I couldn't care less about winning together as some sort of all inclusive team. I never once made bad grades in college, I didn't even realize that people paid for school as I had grants and scholarships. That's not a brag, it's just what happened and that statement pissed off a lot of people at work but it's the truth, I didn't realize it. I feel like I get assigned projects and I get the work done as fast as possible. I don't miss meetings and never fail to contribute but I couldn't care less if we are all "on board and winning or not. The truth is that one of our competitors could come up with a product that costs 1/10 of ours and has millions of more features and no bugs and it won't matter that we "feel like a winning team".

I feel like I am worthless because all of that stuff doesn't matter to me. And it seems like the people in leadership consider that sort of "winning attitude" to come first in life and that falls out everywhere.

Does it matter if someone is not a winner but is still capable? I feel like the world wishes non winners didn't exist.

no you're right. and it feels like if you're a "winner" you can get away with a lot of awful things. some people just want to live calmly and that's okay.

I'm right there with you, friend. Every single job listing is looking for some variation of "an outgoing and energetic self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced envirnonment!" (🤢) I guess people who are quiet and calm and don't like competition can just... starve?

Not sure if this would be your kind of thing, (and it definitely shows my age), but if you're up for it, check out the song "Lower" by NOFX.

I notice it's not bust job listings. It's driving and volunteering and daily activities. Even comments people make on social media are at best humble bragging of success from failure.

I'm so honest and that behavior is not appreciated at work. Example: I don't believe the company I work for has the best product for everything and I'm completely willing to admit that openly. If the sales team brings a potential new customer and their needs dont match the products and services I say honestly "our suite of stuff isn't for you, you should check somewhere else. That goes against so much in the sales world but it's true. I've been told I have a negative attitude.

Oddly enough I like sports. Mostly because there is an outcome for many cases you can't argue about. You don't have to pretend to be a winner, you are likely not the winner since there is usually only one winner and then a bunch of losers. But I feel like accepting that Is looked on as failure of attitude.

It gets me down because mostly I want to be ignored. I mean I'll do my job and make sure things work but I don't want accolades or succcess and the truth is that I don't care if most companies are the most successful or not.

I'm the same as you but more of an underachiever. I guess it's a personality type better suited for an era of humanity that's long past now.
