I had the thought when I re-read the "Who would you unban?" thread that I started. I miss @Chinaski
And I think I also appreciated some other members that were mentioned in this thread.
However, we (most of us) don't know what happened behind the scenes. So we should be careful to judge.
It would be cool if there were soft and hard bans. Hard bans would be permanent. I could imagine such a ruling already exists. Because I know a member that received a temporary ban.
I wish we could give some people another chance. On the other hand, maybe this wouldn't be good for the forum and its members. It is difficult to weigh the pros and cons.
I think if there were no rules and no moderation this forum would become very extreme within a very short time. And I mean by that maybe within a week. This would attract the wrong people. SaSu might become a second 8chan in such a scenario.
I think suicide encouragement, terrorism and other criminal activities would happen. I am not sure how fast the forum broke down in the current form. But I think the sane people including myself would flee very quickly. Luckily, this won't happen in the near future. It is more likely the rules might become more restrictive. But that's only my gut feeling.
