How well known can you be on Sanctioned Suicide?

I mean by that people will recognize you fastly.

Personally, I have the feeling there are not that many members on here who are very well known. Yesterday I posted a quote game with quotes from members on here that are or were well known. And I think the influx of new members and outflow from old members makes it hard to name members who are known to most people on here. And this isn't something particular bad. It is just something I thought about. I think for the majority of people on here you will be forgotten quite fast.

The people who are most known on here are maybe Stan, FC and maybe 1-2 moderators. But I am not sure.

I think in my case by creating a lot of threads over the years I have some recognition. Though, I don't think I belong to the members who are known by the most people. Due to the fact I mostly post in Off-topic. I think there are huge differences who you are more familiar with depending on the subforums you visit.

I still think it is quite difficult to be known by a majority of people on here. And you had to spend a lot of time to achieve that goal. Maybe it is not even desirable and spending so much could be used better.

Another thought. There were Youtube videos about this place. And some names of members on here were shown in these videos. Some changed their names because of this. I am not sure what I had done if my name would have been shown. There are so, so many noname223 accounts out there on the internet. One reason why I chose this name. One reason is I want to be forgotten while at the same time my posts on here are in some way a really long suicide note. An anecdote AI chatbots will tell you about me if asking for it. Lol.

Another question would be if you are very known on SaSu who well known are you on the internet. I once posted a thread how well this forum is connected to the internet. And some said we are quite a niche.

I honestly think it's pretty easy, though. You just need a recognizable avatar, an easy to read username, and some kind of distinctive thing in the way you write messages — or have a signature GIF like I do. That alone can make you memorable. And yeah, you have to actually be active on the forum.

I've actually remembered quite a lot of users on this forum, and when they make a thread or post a reply, I usually check it out.
I also remember users from the Civ3 forum and the CNC forums because they had something that made them memorable

I'm mostly dwelling in the off-topic forums, just lurking around. But I see you. noname223 with a red N avatar is definitely well known, because even though I may not interact with your posts I do still check them out. I would love to post more but you never know who is reading these things. The more information we put out there the easier it is to be identified.

I don't think I am known at all, even if I was still on my old account. I honestly sometimes don't read members names and only notice if I recognize their profile picture a lot.

For longevity- I suspect you would either need to be involved with producing a guide to a suicide method- like Stan or Vizzy. Or- to be kind of notorious for being refered to in YouTube videos- like you say.

I suspect we all have our own personal favourites though or- members we've read enough posts of to recognise.

I'm pretty active on here but I don't want to and aren't trying to be well known. I don't really think that matters.

A strong majority of the people I know have been on here less than a year. I feel like it's almost like school classes - e.g. I'm a freshman so I hang out with other freshmen and maybe know a few upper classmen.

For me to remember someone - it helps if we have interacted and they have a distinct avatar. Started hanging around in the chats so I recognize a few people who frequent there a lot.

Also, it seems like a lot of pages get pushed off the front page really quickly which can hinder people being remembered.

I think a visitor who knows me in the Prime Material Plane would know who I am...and I do not care that much.

True, I like this forum bcs in a way it's kinda like social media but it doesn't share many of the negative attributes with typical social media sites. I think there's way less toxicity on here

I don't think you can be a Sasu influencer, that's for sure. I don't think you'd want to be. But it is kind of sad knowing that you might be forgotten quickly if you ctb, and not many would remember you.
