At what point is it acceptable to end it? Like i dont plan on ending it for a while, because the thoughts have only come back recently, but everyday feels miserable and slow.

What im asking is, what are your thoughts on suicide timelines? Do you think people should wait a certain amount of time b4 trying?? This has been on my mind a lot recently, exp with my thoughts coming back and not passively this time.
Guh sometimes i feel like my posts r like questionnaires
Edit; NOT asking for advice on whether or not i should kms! Will figure it out on my own, just want to hear your guys stories/opinions and how you knew, or know when you are fully committed (bad wording but hopefully u understand)

No one here can tell you what to do.

It might be worth exhausting other options before you make a permanent one that will hurt the people around you.

If you're asking this question, it's likely you're not ready to go. Just my opinion though...

I will second this. You will know when it's time. For me it was when the peaceful pill handbook arrived in the mail

I feel like it's better to err on the side of not doing it. Because it's not something that you can undo once it's done, and it is always something that you can still do in the future even if you don't do it now.

I'm closer than I've ever been, at the moment, and getting more okay with it. But I am trying to remain flexible in my thinking rather than getting locked in.

Part of my brain knows that I'm in a really fucked up place right now, and I want to make sure that that part of my brain is something that I'm still listening to. I mean, I might just be done. Things have been on a downward slide for some years now even though I've been really trying to get better and build a life for myself, so I might just be done. Things seem incredibly bleak and dark right now, and I don't know if I even have it in me to keep going anymore.

But that is a decision that I don't have to make today.

Also, I have to say, I have seen some of your other posts, and I hope you get a chance to spend some time IRL in some trans positive spaces with some supportive people. You deserve that, you sound awesome.

Ah okay gotcha. Well, I can only speak for myself.

I think when you reach the point of becoming very cynical, not about just your own life but about all of life on this planet... that's a pretty big sign. I personally think its quite normal for some people (not everyone) to start writing humanity off as some sort of failed project. For me, it's linked to things like antinatalism etc. I think that's a normal part of some people's psychology for some reason.

Like for example, when I hear people taking a positive stance on this life, I would very often find myself either getting mildly frustrated/angry or just scoffing or laughing at what I perceive to be their naivety or ignorance to objective reality. This is a pretty big sign, that mentally I have one foot out the door already... because I just have a complete disconnect with anyone who might try to portray this life in any sort of positive/optimistic manner.

Any yet, I can recognise that people have the right to view this life how they wish. And obviously, if you intend to stick around for a while and your mind doesn't consider self deletion to be an option... then you very obviously need to have some sort of glass half full approach to your life. Otherwise you stand very little chance of attaining anything even moderately satisfactory in terms of contentment in life. But I would still take the view, that this is usually false optimism, delusional thinking etc.

So yeah, that's just coming at it from my perspective...

Good post. It's a genuine tiredness of life for me and many others. We have seen the evilness, the lies, the mundaneness, the wheel we are on etc. And you are right about the laughing part...sometimes I just do it as a coping mechanism. I don't really mean to offend others, it's just my reaction through cynicism etc.

I think it kind of depends whether it's time-sensitive or not.... for example if you're deathly sick and the choice is dying now vs. dying slightly later then doing it at your own time ASAP is probably a good idea.

If it's not time-sensitive, you aren't dying yet but really want to, it's probably better to err on the side of doing it later, because you can always do it slightly later, you know?

Ofc it depends highly on your personal situation, this is a highly personal question...

Things might be shitty right now, but there are good people out there who will accept and love you as you are, I swear. You have something to offer the world, and part of that might be being able to help and support other people who are struggling to find a place. As we walk through shit, we get to show up other people who are walking through shit.

Hang on if you can.

If you have to mull it over and feel uncertain, then you're probably not ready to go.

I believe that every human being should have the right to choose when their life should end on their own terms- but that choice doesn't have to be made right now. I'm in a similar limbo like you are. I'm personally trying to give myself 1-2 years to see if I claw even a smidge of happiness back into my life, because I know I'm not ready to go right this moment. Soon, relatively speaking, but not today. Not this week, or month, or year. I want to try and give top surgery a chance to see if it helps. If it doesn't, well, suicide isn't leaving as an option anytime soon.

Everyone's 'suicide timeline' varies. It's personal. I had a friend who committed a few years ago, and his choice was very sudden. He was ready to go, and he knew it. I have another friend who attempted, failed, and is now actively trying to recover (and I'm proud of her for it) because she decided she's not ready to try again.

You'll know, when the time comes. If you feel like you're not ready, then you're not ready- and that's okay.
