Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I'm in my last year of highschool, after this I have basically no reason to live. I don't have the energy to be a normal human, to go to work, to go to parties, etc. I find nothing enjoyable. I tried having a summer job and quit on the first day not even going because I was too lazy and afraid.

I skipped school today because I woke up late like always. I want to focus academically and be that good student, but there is no point with my mindset. Thankfully I still think some things are enjoyable like playing ROBLOX and chew spitting candy, but even that is getting mundane(?). In the back of my mind I know there is of course a chance I will still live a pretty long life, even to just 30, and therefore I have to do things like go to school, but I just don't want to. I'm so fucking lazy and privileged sorry.

Have you seen a psychiatrist? I feel like a lot of people who feel lazy have ADHD or depression.

You don't know for a fact that nothing will be good. You are a teenager in high school. Possibility is waiting for you. Talking with a psychologist and psychiatrist would be good to do.

I have depression kind of diagnosed but I hate therapists and all that. I think either you live and don't complain or die (mindset only toward me).

It's connected to my eco anxiety, so yes everything will get worse.

That question often runs in the back of my mind all the time. I sometimes wish an apocalypse could happen

You're not "lazy and privileged" at all. Just aware. Aware that it's all pointless.

i'll be honest, i'm 21 and it hasn't gotten better for me. i can't find a job, or i'm too anxious and skip interviews on purpose because it terrifies me. i can't afford to go back to school, i can't afford to buy groceries and have been barely scraping by on like $1 frozen meals. there's nothing else for me in life, i think that's just what happens with certain people. for context, i have an autism diagnosis, and i don't have anyone to help me. this is going to be my life until i'm brave enough to ctb. for what it's worth, you should still try, so you don't end up like me.

It can be so difficult to motivate ourselves. Kind of like you mentioned though- when suicide isn't certain/ guaranteed at a certain date- there are consequences for not doing the things we know we should be doing. I try to focus on the most catastrophic consequences to try to motivate me.

While it's horrible- do the people/ family in your life put pressure/ expectations on you? That's often enough to pressure me to do stuff. I don't want a lecture- which would still happen- even though I'm in my mid fourties!

Just in terms of our own experience of life too. I know if I let my hygiene and living environment get too bad for example- I run the higher risk of becoming ill. I know if I don't hold down my prefered job, it will be back to something I'll likely hate more.

When I was studying- it was with the desperate hope of finding a more fulfilling job at the end.

By no means am I even as good as I was and even then, I wasn't great but- there is the whole 'greater good' aim. That we end up putting up with boring, horrible shit in the present- like exercise (for me,) to try to help ourselves out in the future. Partly because we may not know we absolutely will kill ourselves.

I suppose it depends on a person's aim though. Some people do actually seem to want to paint themselves into a corner- so they'll more or less have to suicide. I'd prefer to be in more control personally. To still feel like it is a rational choice- rather than a panicked escape.

Although- I've let all but the bare minimum slip now to be honest so- I'm in no position to lecture.
