Hey there, I am going to buy sodium nitrite. I am thinking buying a 5 pound bag. Is that more than enough or should I buy a bigger bag? I'm pretty sure everyone is going to tell me that it's more than enough but I just wanna be extra sure that I'm getting the right thing. The site also said it's 100 percent pure, and that it is very soluble in water but it did NOT say on the bag the percentage. Should I be worried about what percentage it is since it doesn't say it on the bag even though on the website it said it had a 100 percent pure and satisfaction guarantee?

5lbs would kill an elephant. I'd be a little suspicious if the bag/packaging says nothing re percentage. A website can say anything, unless you know it's reputable…

Damn. I feel defeated and hopeless. I've been trying to find the right one with the right percentage and so far it's been hard to find.

If it comes in a 2-pound bag, it probably isn't chemical-grade SN. It's probably for curing meat, and is probably not pure SN. I would worry about consuming whatever it is diluted with... probably regular salt...

I could be wrong... has anyone tested the purity of SN sold in 2-pound bags?
