• Hey Guest,

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I just wondered how far in advance people set the date of CTB. And if there was any correlation with that and successfully CTB.

Thank you.

It depends on the person. Personally I wouldn't set the date too far in advance. I feel that it would put too much pressure on me, and I know that I would get more and more anxious as the date approached. I would probably not set a date more than a few days in advance at most.

I feel really similar.

The thing is, I can't do it at home so I have to book a place which means it has to happen then, and spend money etc.

So, I'm super anxious as I think it needs to very soon, but I'm also still getting everything together.

I think it'd be different if I lived alone for example.

I think the earlier the better in case anything happens (even if im just sick. I have a chronic illness)

Also thank you for your message. That was really reassuring to me as im nervous

I think that it depends on the individual and their situation how far in advance to set the date. Only the person themselves knows when it is the right time to leave this world, after all. I do not think that the date is what is important to make ctb successful, I think that it is more of how well planned the method is to reduce chance of failure.

I've known the day that i die about 6 months in advance because my apartment contract runs out then.

Good thing about this is I'm 100% sure now I can do it and have come to terms with death.

Bad thing is counting the days with all the anxiety, nightmares and sorrow because your mind fights against it like hell believe me.

So no i don't recommend setting a date just do it on impulse when you have had enough.
Just make sure this is what you want first.

I honestly can't speak to any correlation, but I've "unspecific-ally" set my tentative "time" for next Spring, somewhere around right now next year, only because I still have some things I need to take care of. Of course, that is subject to change without notice, as the disclaimer goes. I may go tonight. Maybe tomorrow or this weekend, or next month.

I don't know when. Honestly, I don't know what is stopping me from doing it now. No one will realise really if/when I decide to CTB. I have a scenario in mind, I'm just hoping and waiting when the time comes to do it but doing so will probably mean a higher chance of failure.
