Drowning is sadly not a very efficient way to CTB. There are better methods, such as SN, jumping, hanging, nitrogen, N etc...

If it's OK, let me compare it to the maternal instinct.
We often don't like our kids or the things they do and choices they make.
But we can't stop loving them, even if they commit truly heinous acts.
My honest answer would be that when the time is right and you reach that point where you are so low that you enter what I have come to call "the black pit of despair". I've known others talk about this state.
It's as though you are blinkered and cannot thin k of or remember loved ones or the things that would normally lead you to question such actions. It's a very dark, lonely and cold place and I think even the SI has difficulty operating in there.

Drowning really sounds like a horrible and difficult way to die. I believe that most deaths by drowning are accidental rather than on purpose. Maybe those who succeed with drowning are in a situation where they physically can't get out of the water, they are trapped and out of their depth, that is how I believe these accidents happen. I do wish it was easier to die by drowning as it's an accessible method after all. But those who really knew how to overcome the SI are the ones who have left this world already. I wish you the best

When the time is right, it won't be a problem. If it's a problem, the time isn't right, OP.
Simple as.

My best recommendation would be to bypass it entirely. The human body is not aware of certain emissions so running a hose from the tailpipe of your car to whatever you want as a chamber like the front seat would be very quiet and rather quick. Prying eyes would be your biggest concern. If you do not have a vehicle then you make need to seek alternatives but most houses have gas of some kind. After that it would just be a matter of causing such a leak. Your brain won't even try to make you fight, it would be like getting drowsy and then going to sleep.

For me it just got eroded away over the years. The first time I was going to kill myself I was balling my eyes out when writing my suicide note, and in the end I couldn't bring myself to do it. Compare that to my recent attempt, where I wrote my note with no issue and was actually in a really good mood because I was finally going to kill myself.

It's a very individual thing, but that method is so terrifying nd stressful that it will be very difficult with this method. There are more peaceful methods, but each persons needs t decide a method for themselves.

I would say for me, I stuggle with this too but if you can be super honest about yourself and if you see/desire a future then try get better. And if you are serious about getting out of here. You need to think logically about it. Living is worse than dying to me that's enough of a reason to change my thinking about death. It makes it easier. It's taken me a while to get here though.

I am also interested in drowning (paired with intoxication with alcohol). I also am perscribed olanzapine. I'm interested in knowing why you are using olanzapine. Have you read something/found research indicating it is effective in helping to finish the act. I know the medication causes drowsiness.

But aren't most cars these days built to not emit the enough emissions needed to commit the act. To get around this I have been reading up on car models in which people have successfully done it

When the stressors are great enough, the pain severe enough, SI does tend to fail. Although some people like using drugs or alcohol to numb their SI.

judgment can be clouded by the method, like others mentioned here

how determined are you? remove the method from the equation by thinking about N: peacefulness
now see if your survival instinct can be ignored or not; if you can ignore it, ask yourself the most important question: 'is my life really worthy or not?' (will you have any regrets?)

if you are sure you want to end it, then re-evaluate your method
