Hi, I wanna lose weight and it's hard for me to fall asleep. I sleep when I pass out and even if I take sleep aid or seroquel for sleeping, i only get six hours of sleep max. How do I get to sleep for 12-16 or even 20 hours a day? cos I want to lose weight and not spend money on food. Thank you. It can be unhealthy. I just wanna lose weight. And sleep all day.

This is not healthy at all but this is how I avoid my problems so I've kinda just trained myself to pass out to avoid them

I'm not sure how successful trying to sleep away the urge to eat is, I used to do fasting periods where I wouldn't eat for 5+ days and the hunger would keep me awake, or even worse I would have a 'nightmare' about eating and that would wake me up. I find distraction works better than sleeping. Doing something that involves your hands so you can't eat, something messy, like gardening? Modelling with clay?

U need to stop caring. Nothing should worry stop being on the edge on ur toes. But by that time u will stop caring bout losing weight

I've heard stories about spelunkers sleeping for up to 30 hours at a time in the absence of sunlight. (Example). Seems like the key is to avoid a light/dark cycle specifically and time indicators in general. Not sure how realistically achievable this is, but I think it's interesting anyway.

And I know this wasn't your question, so feel free to disregard it, but if your aim is to lose weight and keep it off, I think the most sustainable method is to change what you eat. If your diet includes lots of whole fruits, vegetables, grains, and nutrient-dense high-fiber foods in general, you can eat A LOT and still maintain a relatively healthy weight.

Unfortunately, it's not possible. When you're eating very little, the body keeps waking you up in order to send you out to find food. This harkens back to the hunter gatherer days.

There was a real risk back then of starving to death since people had to hunt their own food and it wasn't easy. The body will constantly wake you up when you're starving.It's the hormone ghrelin that is responsible for this,high levels of this hunger hormone disrupt sleep.

If you want to lose weight quickly, do what I do on a weight loss cut.Just down protein shakes every day and nothing else.
However, you cannot sleep through this and it will be miserable. But you will lose weight really fast and it's only for a short time. It's called a protein sparing modified fast.
