Discussion How did you choose your date?

I just bought the gun. A cheap ass 10mm pistol, it should do the trick. I've put off buying it for almost a year but all of the conditions I set for when I would ctb were met yesterday. I don't know where I'm going to do it yet. I've thought about in a hotel but I would feel awful for the workers who would find my body. I've also thought about driving out to a remote area and doing it there but I'm not sure if my shitbox could make it. I also want to be warm and comfortable when I leave, I'm already going to be alone :(

I'm also not sure on when exactly I should do it. I want to do it really soon, I'm don't known if I want wait until after Christmas. How did you choose your date? I honestly have never thought about that part of ctb that much and so I'm curious about how others chose theirs.

My current suicide date is probably going to be sometime in February. If I do it that month, it will most likely be on the 13th, as I think it would be cool to have my death be on Friday the 13th, and also because it's the day before Valentine's day, a holiday which I despise for several reasons.

settled my ctb date (jan. 5th) as is because it'll be the last day of my (future) 2-week holiday break before i head back into a miserable life. i don't mind having to ride through the holiday season/new years since it's the only time of year that i feel somewhat okay with my life.

but of course, this is just my personal preference and situation. it could be different for you and anyone else (like how some folks here plan on ctb before the new year). i'd say once you've got things sorted out and have a place to ctb, then maybe think about what time would be best for you, based on your own preferences. doesn't have to be very soon or far back. it depends whether you want to be alive by a certain time period.

I promised myself I won't make it past this year and time is running out and it's getting worse every month and I'm hopeless so December it is for me!

I thought about doing it on the 28th because it's my exs birthday (and to be quite honest she completely destroyed me for the last bits of me that were still remaining) but due to how much I wanna catch the bus right now I'm thinking about doing it probably this weekend or next week (as soon as possible).

I fucking hate this place. I was an unwanted child and I don't want this place anymore.

So yeah - December it is. I don't even remotely want to think about 2026.

Holidays or special days are go-to dates for a lot of people. I think it's because they're often when we feel the lowest and we think we'll have more motivation to actually go through with it on or before that day. Funny enough my date is always my birthday, which sometimes does fall on a Friday the 13th.
