I'd personally always prefer the poison, I wish I had access to that method and I see so much cruelty in how it's denied for me, hanging to me sounds like such a painful, horrible method and I'd fear it going wrong and leading to way worse suffering and all I wish for is to never suffer ever again. To my knowledge (PPEH), SN takes about 40 minutes, which given the fact that it is far more peaceful--is not that different from the 10 or so minutes hanging takes.
