That really sucks. Seems no-one can get hold of D at the moment. I fell for a member here giving me a similar address for D that was just a scammer lying in wait which I only realised after it was too late, lost $700. Best bet is to wait for an updated email in the next PPeH, although rumours are about that D was on the verge of being caught which is why he's no longer reachable

I did see soneone say that once around a couple of weeks or so back but it was pure conjecture and honestly had nothing to back it up bar what we've seen of the wellness visits and confiscations. Rumours are often born out of poor speculation around here.
Did I miss a more recent claim on that front? It's entirely possible.

Have to say that's a pretty high price for 2 bottles. Even with a hike in price it's significant. @jk9761 pm me the email address you used for D if you want and I'll tell you if it was a scam. I don't have the latest email address but have seen a few scam addresses lately and there's a bit of theme. I'm guessing if you spoke with a shipping service that said your package was returned to sender though it must be legitimate. Someone else had the same problem. They posted about it yesterday but I think it was an order from a while back as I've seen the member around for some time. I'm not sure how these errors happen and what D will do about it tbh. He has offered a price reduction on second purchases before. Can't help wondering if the shipping issue is a result of changes to various processes. Didn't UK leave EU recently. That must have impacted shipping procedures. Then there's the whole covid thing and this Russia/Ukraine thing.
Bare in mind too that shipping handlers (and more importantly people who work in customer services for shipping handlers) are often half soaked or out of the full picture when recounting details from shipping manefests etc. They have a couple of words to base their recounting of the status on and often its open to interpretation or even misleading. Not wanting to worry you. Just saying it's not impossible it got intercepted or is sitting in a warehouse somewhere/lost. Customer service isn't what it once was. The days of "customer is king" are long dead and buried unfortunately.

Yeah. The transitional phase and logistics of things was pretty protracted right? I'm just thinking that maybe that whole change could be why D (if it is D) is making errors. I'm not ruling out other reasons though lol. Under no false impression on D's diligence or thoroughness.
OP tells me he got shipping details from D before paying. Maybe not implausible but reasonably improbable given that D had dealt with many a time waster in the past.
Honestly I'm questioning the validity of things here.

There's an error message saying it doesn't exist. If that changes its probably a scammer that's picked it up whilst available as old addresses can effectively be recycled.

That's surprising because someone experimentally attempted to sign up with d's recently deleted address and reported back saying it's available. Not sure what to make of that.

Regarding OP's situation I have a feeling their friend is scamming them or they're very unlucky. It seems odd that their friend would charge for 3 bottles when OP ordered only 2 and then offer to sell them thwir only single bottle to OP when everything apparently didn't work out. Seems like all data is kept at arms length from OP by the friend. Did they show you the shipping info OP? Did they provide you the address for D to check yourself and if not were they evasive when you asked for details. Something definitely seems off to me. If it was a legitimate purchase /which seems to have been made whilst D's email was out of commision) then it is lost due to its return to sender. Sender couldn't receive it because they wouldn't have used a legitimate return address for legal reasons.
This is the typically unfortunate result off a paywall.
In all honesty I'm taking OP's words at face value but an argument can be made that there could be some deception going on for whatever reason. It would be unfair to make that assumption without certainty though.

I confirm it was no longer in use some days ago (compared to other existing emails not marked in use) so I believe a scammer reacted, possibly after reading our very own conversation here, and booked it by registering it again.
I doubt D had a change of mind and took it back to not miss on the SS crowd but who knows.
The thing is the official word is there is a new email from the Essentials book so using the previou email i now a huge gamble. In fact, t
A's email had gone to the exact same happening with a scammer taking over the once reliable email after a technical failure from the email provider (Ctemplar back then). This sounds like the same fate so I would stay clear and away of the temptation or be ready to get burned

Proton email addresses aren't recyclable, so unless there's some kind of glitch, there's no way somebody else could've taken it unless they're somehow connected with somebody who works for Proton in Switzerland.
There is a new email address but "It isn't currently available." Even Exit forum members don't understand what's going on.
In the past, they used to be recyclable after 1 year. I don't know if it evolved like your link suggests. Anyway, it was not some weeks not even a year that passed.
Your comment invites even more caution. Imagine if it was not a scammer behind it now but think of worse. With the recent heat and interest dragged to authorities ...Protonmail is known to cooperate with LE when dully forced to do so and has been known to do it hundred of times before
This will remain a mystery but the past is the past and members should drag their efforts to get the content of the Essentials now. Call out for 50yo members to help. That should be the point of focus by now.

Just checked. It's true as of today the old email is again marked "already in use" so impossible to subscribe it again. It was not the case a few days before (I did the same check and prevented myself to book it personally because it let me do so)
So something is off the charts and shady here. Be cautious
